The Savage Beast was touted as "the first hip-hop album comprised of only animal sounds". 9 months have passed since the day that project was released, and I have finally given birth to the second and final installment of the Savage Beast series. Although this is the first project that I have "rapped" over, I wouldn't consider this a hip-hop album. Some may argue the validity of that statement, but the main reason I say it's not a hip hop album is because I don't want you to expect it to sound a certain way before you listen to it. This album isn't about flows, delivery, cadence, metaphors or similes. This is an album of statements. As a matter of fact, this whole project is basically an open hate letter to hip hop as a culture. The first Savage Beast album was a journey into the rhythmic nature of life, and this album is much more about my feelings, backed with the primal swing of organic animal sounds. Obviously I could've done all of these songs with traditional hip hop beats, but it wouldn't feel right to me. In order for these songs to ring true, I had to abandon several facets of rap music structure and style.
